How to replace a display's broken USB-passthrough? (USB Type-B 3.0)

Monitor: Samsung CHG70 (specifically, LC27HG70QQNXZA)

Early into its ownership, its USB passthrough randomly broke. As in, when I was adjusting the monitor's position, the middle portion of the type-B port fell out. ???? Never really got around to fixing it since it's fairly insignificant.

Now I want to fix it, especially now that I have the tools necessary to do such a thing.

Questions

Is there a more specific kind of part I'll need? I searched around for "female USB 3.0 type b" and get results like this. It looks like what I need, but is it compatible? Or is there something else I may be missing?

I hate type-B, or really anything that isn't C at this point. Given I'm replacing the entire piece, can I use a female USB-C port instead? I have zero electronics knowledge short of being able to follow soldering guides and the like, but I have nothing to support this kind of idea.
