The key 2/@ is not working well. Only clicking very hard. I also try to take off the key to clean it and was not that easy to get off. WHat should I do?

I fear the dome switch element under the key has failed if the depression is even and the same as the other keys. If its not the dome switch then the scissor mechanism is damaged and would need replacing.
