My braun 3756 toothbrush charges but when using it shuts off randomly. Usually after I put it back on the charger it starts working again. Some times it takes quite a while on charger before working again. Also, if left off charger it drains quickly.

It is likely that the battery has outlived its life and the toothbrush needs to have it replaced. You can find out information about this repair here for your series brush.
