Short while restoring in recovery mode

This board always causes an error while restoring (usually error 4015 but last time it was error 9).

Log:

<Restore Device 0x7f8235cd1f70>: operation 80 progress 1

[12:09:58.8498] unable to read message size: -1

[12:09:58.8499] Failed to receive message from device, might be connection problem with USB host.

I attached a DCPS and it draw 120 mA while in recovery mode. While restoring the current jumped higher than 200mA (my MM is broken so I could not see how much it really was) and stayed this high after this error occurred. I don’t think it’s normal behaviour.

What lines can I check that would produce this?

just one way: localize a short. Split the board, should be a twice easier :-) (you know what I mean).

There is no way we can help diagnose this over the internet unless you can give more information.

• How did it become like this?

• Have you tested it in a known good housing to rule out parts?

Originally this logic board had a short on vdd_main, which I have fixed. After joining the boards together, everything worked like for 2 hours and then it suddenly crashed and was stuck in recovery mode.

I think I didn't join the boards correctly. I was using a normal stove and a hairdryer. It seemed like a pretty good job for me. But probably there was too few solder left.

I now seperated it again and bought proper equipment, such as a heat gun and the correct solder to reball it.
