Wont turn on and wont charge

Hi guys.. need some help. A day before this problem started my iphone reboots occasionally. but just today when i drained my battery and charge it... it went crazy and suddenly stopped charging... and i noticed that battery percentage went from 50% 30% and down to less than 10% after few hard resets.. i tried charging it using the laptop/PC and my charger which is class A.

also, when i plug it the back of my iphone starts to heat up...

is this a battery problem? iphone dock problem? or my class a charger?...

i was able to change my battery to a class A battery. it does get charged but im having 2 issues along.. 1st, the screen gets weird.. the battery icon gets disfigured or jammed.. i cant really explain it in english... 2nd, the back of the phone, gets hot... the battery has the same specification as the original.. i did not pull of the sticker at the back, does this affect the battery?... also, the small pin the attaches to the side of the iphone case(something related to the antenna i think) was detached... im not so sure with this...

would appreciate your help guys,.... thank you a lot!!

markeeinsik, I would start off with the battery. Unless you have changed it before, it must be at the end of its lifespan. That will also give you a clean starting place for further trouble shooting. Good Luck.

Having a similar issue. Mine just shut off and won't turn back on. Home/Power button trick doesn't work and doesn't do anything when plugged in to AC power. Wondering if maybe the battery crapped out?

Same answer as above...;-)

Is this the same phone you had all those problems with before? Battery sounds likely as OT3 says.I personally don't like non apple chargers..too many people on here with problems! (dock+/- battery)

Will a dead battery just cut out and kick the bucket? Or just stop holding a charge? Im assuming both is possible depending on the battery issue?

I have only seen it very few times, that the battery just keeled over. It usually presents with some weirdness happening to the device. Usually, turning off and on, giving different error codes, trouble connecting etc. Also, time to charge takes longer and discharge happens quicker etc.

if the battery is dead, if i were to plug it in to itunes would i even get a response? I'm just wondering if its the dock connector or battery. I've noticed a crack in the back housing (a bit bigger then the normal cracking near the dock connector) so thinking this one took a bit of a bounce at some point. screen isn't cracked.

I just removed the logicboard, and battery, gently blew any dust and dirt that was there, and carefully put everything back together. Held down the power button for a few seconds and voila the phone turns on and works perfectly! I'm assuming it took a bounce something popped loose along the way and just needed to be reconnected. markeeinsik i hope your issue is as simple as this.

The guide here on ifixit really helps to outline the different screws.. use a piece of double sided tape, or normal tape but sticky side up to keep your screws organized and in order! My biggest tip!
