Uppercase was replaced but keyboard and trackpad is dead

Uppercase was replaced with also keyboard replacement but keyboard and trackpad is still dead. External USB works fine. Getting Bluetooth not detected error. but transferring Bluetooth files works fine.

Is it the io cable or is it another cable that needs to be replaced. Or is it the io board that is dead, ie motherboard is it dead

Depending on the year of the Macbook Air the keyboard and trackpad both have cables that run through the trackpad. If the trackpad stops working then both keyboard and trackpad can stop working.

Only power button works.

Step 42, left skinny cable and a thick right cable

I did have to reuse this, I don't have a new part yet...

You look like you are mixing parts from different series! You can't mix 2010 and 2011 system parts!

You need this cable for the mid 2011 case MacBook Air 11" (Mid 2011-Mid 2012) Trackpad Cable

Is your original system a 2010 or a 2011 system as like the cable you need to use the correct uppercase for your logic board.

Not at all, all parts confirmed for a1370 model 1.4ghz. also, my pad cable is just like a simple z , no small loops in the center.

Keep in mind, I never changed the pad cable before , only the uppercase with keys.

Original issue was keys and pad was dead, power button is fine, also bluetooth is good.

The pad cable seems to be the culprit as it controls both keys and pad stated in the parts description and as suggested by Anthony.

I will report back when part is replaced.

@Franc m - OK, then we have the wrong uppercase then! So instead of playing wack a mole how about verifying your system so we are talking about the same system. Plug in your systems S/N here EveryMac - Lookup let us know what it told you.

Hint: if you can gain access to the OS go to About this Mac to grab the systems S/N as that's what the logic board is we need to follow.

I did make sure to order the right uppercase w/ keyboard and the track pad cable.

Intro. October 20, 2010 Disc. July 20, 2011

Order MC505LL/A* Model A1370 (EMC 2393)

Family Late 2010 ID MacBookAir3,1

RAM 2 GB VRAM 256 MB

Storage 64, 128 GB SSD Optical None*

Keep in mind after replacing uppercase and pad cable the original issue remains same. Nothing new is broken.

-Bluetooth works

-wifi works

-power key works

-other keys dead

-track pad is dead

-after startup: same message... Bluetooth Keyboard Setup / There isn't a keyboard connected.

-external usb mouse good

-external usb keyboard good also

@Franc m - Something is off here! I think you'll need to get a fresh set of eyes who knows and repairs Mac systems to figure this one.

I will bring it to the apple store and see if they can give me any hints, I'm sure they have seen this before. Dead keys and pad except power button.
