What is the model number of the phone?
Is it only calls from your boyfriend that you can't hear or on all calls? If only on calls from him it may be a problem with his phone and not yours.
As we don't know what you've tried when you said "...and I have tried everything.", have you tried using the phone in loudspeaker mode or using the earphones with the microphone attachment plugged into the phone’s earphone socket to see if that worked OK or not indicating a possible problem with the earpiece receiver?
