Why do I have no service?

I have tried every thing I have changed my iPhone case because it was cracked and I thought the antenna was having bad connections but it didn't work again no service. So I also changed the antenna flex cable but still no service. What can it be from ?

Have you tried to "Reset network settings" in the Settings?

Update

Since reset network settings didn't work, it's a hardware issue.

I just had this exact problem after opening my phone up. (it alternated between searching and no service) Here's how i fixed it.

Your gold prong is intact, which is a good sign but there's a chance it's not making contact with the silver bezel that surrounds your pnone.

This was the case with me.

Please note: this procedure IS risky. Please proceed with extreme caution. One wrong move could possibly snap your prong, and this will make matters much worse.

Get a pair of needle-nosed pliers and put them aside for now. Turn your phone off, and open it up. loosen the 2 screws (do not remove screw, and the screw directly under it) just a tiny tiny bit. Not even a quarter of a turn.

Now for the hard part. Take your pliers and VERY VERY GENTLY squeeze the TOP prong and silver bezel together. go slow, take your time and take a few deep breaths beforehand (yes that really helps)

As fine as the prong may seem, it's not making contact with the bezel, which is what grounds the cell reception.

I just did this procedure myself and it worked just fine. i really hope it's the solution for you too.

Good luck!

Dean

As far as I am aware, the dock has a cellular connector on it, it is the one on the right hand side that plugs in next to the 'do not remove' sticker, this could be a culprit to consider if you have another dock connector you can try as it would be the easiest fix for this.

Also, right next to that connector, there is a very small inductor, it sits between the connector and the screw hole for the do not remove sticker, if this breaks off or suffers damage it can lead to these issues. I have heard this being repaired by resoldering the inductor back on if it is broken or by soldering some wire on there, having not tried this fix I can't really recommend it.

Update

Is there still a little brass prong poking out near the battery screws? I've heard this needs to go from the board to the silver surround on the phone.
