TV won't power on unless powered on off many times repeatedly

I think the model is AKB72914003. I got that from the LG remote it came with.

With either the remote or the power button on the TV itself, the TV won’t illuminate the screen when powered on. It just stays black. If I repeat this over and over like 20+ times, it will finally light up the screen. Then if I turn it off it will work just fine. The issue seems to only occur when the TV is powered OFF for long durations. You can hear the audio of whatever is playing fine iirc. And you can hear the power button flicker noise as it powers on and off.

Any ideas what to do?

Hi,

What is the model number of the TV as you seem to have posted the model number of the remote control unit?

Usually there is an information label on the back of the TV that has the model number on it
