NDC001, PPN001 & PFM006 all showing after water spill fix?

Hi!

I spilled cordial on my Mac a few days ago and after a fix at the computer shop I ran a self-diagnostic just to make sure everything was ok.

NDC001, PPN001 and PFM006 all showed up, and the technicians did say the fan would be loud occasionally and they installed some new software relevant to it (I’m not overly sure what).

It was a £135 fix, and they cleaned up the spill and installed the software. My computer, other than this, seems to be working just fine. It can be a lot slower now when loading things and using the internet but mostly it is sluggish at the start. Generally the fan loudness is only different on startup and shutdown, in which it is much louder

Does anyone know what this could be, and is there a solution as to how it can be fixed? Thanks! :)

Hi @jesscastro ,

I have an educated guess why your fan is louder on startup and shut down. The software they installed is most likely a fan controlling software which slows down the fan speed to an optimum RPM.

As to why your fan runs full blast on startup? Probably a thermal sensor got water damaged when you spilled your drink on the machine and your laptop thinks it is overheating and runs the fans on full speed until the software kicks in on startup.
