I want to upgrade my 6-Core Intel Core i5, to an 8-core intel core i7. Is this possible?

Options

Towards the end of this iFixit article they state that you “can replace or upgrade the socketed (LGA 1200) CPU.” In other words, I think you can!

Yes, you can put in an i9 but you need to be careful!

You need the I9-10910 for the 2020 model and a I9-9900K for the 2019 model.
