iPhone XR U3300 Charging IC Overheating

Hello, I have an iPhone XR which I replaced the charging IC U3300 on it since it was overheating, but even after replacing U3300 the IC is still overheating. Any ideas? Thank you!

Well with a bit of common sense, you will realize its not the Charging IC itself that has gone bad. It is some other small component on the charging IC line that is causing it to heat up. If you have a thermal camera its the best time to put it to use and find that bad cap.

I tried looking for a component on the charging IC line which may have gone bad using the rosin smoke method, however the only thing that heats up right away is the charging IC itself, only in one area. I am confident it is the pad C1 on the chip. Do you think that the small component that may be causing this is not getting hot?

Yes, this type of short wont be detectable using rosin smoke method. I've had numerous of them and now finally ordered a Thermal Camera. It's a priceless tool imho.

It seems no component is getting hot on the charging IC line, do you think it could be related to another line? It just seems strange to me that only one pad on the IC is getting hot.

What pad is it?

The pad is C1
