MacBook Pro 15” 2018 Battery drained completely and won’t turn on
Hi,
My 2018 MacBook Pro 15” (Touch Bar) drained completely while I was travelling and won’t charge back up anymore. This has happened a few times in the past, but it would turn back on after being left plugged in for a couple of hours. Neither the power adaptor or the Mac get warm while plugged in. The power adaptor is able to charge other devices so I’m sure that isn’t it.
After trying the troubleshooting steps like the SMC reset, I took it in to Apple and they say the logic board needs replacement at a steep cost of ~$800 here in India.
I should note that I had my top case replaced under warranty over a year and a half ago and I’ve only noticed the issue since that repair.
Could this be a case of Apple trying to misdiagnose the issue to overcharge me like many people on the forum say they do? What are my options?
Thanks!
