No Service on iPhone 3G after LCD replacement.

Hi there

I have two iPhone 3G's here (not 3GS, 3G.)

One is an American model locked to AT&T, 8GB black model, running 4.2.1 unlocked with ultrasn0w

Other one is a NZ new model, factory unlocked 16gb white, running 4.2.1.

Let me tell you that this morning, both iPhones were functioning fine.

I received the white iPhone this morning and it had a white screen, so I tried the display assembly from my black iPhone and it worked. I then removed the display assembly and put it back in the black iPhone (so I ordered another display assembly from eBay).

Black iPhone 3G was running 3.1.3 this morning, unlocked with ultrasn0w.

I received a replacement back assembly for the black iPhone, and I assembled that, was working fine, but couldn't get any signal. No service.

So I updated the black iPhone to 4.2.1 keeping the baseband the same, but still couldn't get a signal.

I then took out the logic board completely and re-assembled, hoping that I might have missed something, but still no Signal. I then replaced the speaker/dock connector assembly with the original, and then the iPhone wouldn't boot. Then I changed it back to the new one, and still the iPhone wouldn't boot. Not good.

After this, I put the display assembly back in the white model, and then I couldn't get any signal on this one as well! Strange as well, because it was working previously, and I hadn't touched anything else, other than the connectors for the display assembly.

Just restored the white iPhone to 4.2.1 and still the same error.

I've searched around and got nothing at all, no success.

As you can imagine, I'm not happy.

Any advice will be much appreciated, currently I have two iPhone 3Gs that are no good as phones.
