My comp wont start

hi i have a MacBook Pro for a year and a half, i ve been using it a lot in 3d apps and video editing apps.

yesterday when i tried to start up the computer it just flashes the sleep light and wont start. the light to flash i have to stay pressing the power button.

i took out the memory and put it in again, took the battery out...

i ve read that my problem probebly is bad memory.

can anyone help me?

Look closely at the sleep light, it will flash in a pattern or 1, 3, or sometimes S.O.S.

if we know the pattern, we can help you narrow down the problem..

as you mentioned, faulty memory is one of the many possibilities.

if you hold down the power button for approx. 10 seconds, the sleep light will flash very rapidly - this is to initiate the manual firmware upgrade - used for updating / restoring your logic board firmware via CD - I urge you to not do this process if you are not updating your firmware!

if i press the power botton once and lose it the sleep light will flash one time and the the computer will shoutdown.

i have 2 dimms of 1 giga each of ram.
