Why are you going to such extreme?

par

The reason why I I am going to such a extreme is because I have a water damaged connector on my MacBook logic board that I am working on and at first I thought the pins were burned but they were just badly corroded on both the connector and the flex cable and I thought the ultra sonic cleaner may be the least harmful way of cleaning the cable at such a small level but if that isnt really a option I will probably have to tin them and hope for the best.

Don’t put ribbon cables in an ultrasonic cleaner. Fluid can creep into the cable.

The bad thing about an ultrasonic cleaner is that after you use it you have to clean it. One idea to avoid this is to put cleaning solution in an empty, cleaned out, plastic peanut butter or Nutella jar. Put the parts to be cleaned in the solution in the jar. Put the jar in the ultrasonic cleaner. Fill the ultrasonic cleaner with water.
