Why touch screen works even after broken?

Is the touchscreen working at points all over the screen or just in selected areas?

If working all over it may be just that the surface has cracked and there aren’t any broken internal connections in the screen itself. So the technology that keeps it working is called pure luck

It is advisable to get it repaired as eventually moisture i.e. perspiration, cleaning etc will enter through the cracks and cause problems and eventually it will fail.

Also if you haven’t already done so, since it is still working backup the phone to a computer or the cloud while you can. If the screen decides to fail and you haven’t done a backup it will be harder to do if you wish to save your data for whatever reason. Most likely if you do backup the phone it won’t fail, if you don’t, it will. Murphy’s Law.
