Why does my Xbox 360 flash 4 red rings and the fan spins fast

My Xbox 360 slim flashes 4 red rings and the fan spins extremely fast for 5-10 seconds than shuts off and the Xbox refuses to boot every time I try to turn on the Xbox 360 slim

Try disconnecting the cables and leave it for a few minutes then plug it back
