My tv has vertical shadow lines. looks like it got rained on.
Can I take the front off and wipe the inside of the screen?

Scott Cooper that is indeed a most unusual pattern. No, you cannot. You will have to disassemble the LCD panel from the back. That means you will have to dismantle the complete TV. It is not a terribly complicated job but a bit of a PITA due to it’s size. You will need some room to keep the TV. Let us know if you model is indeed a Sony XBR-65X850D since it will make a difference if it is not.
