Why is my iPhone dropping calls

H E L P_ M E _ P L E A S E _ A N Y O N E

Hello i have recently bought an iPhone XS (used) and everything seemed to work just fine until i got a message from a provider that i have missed call, and my phone was in my hands so it was strange for me. I tried to call that number, and in that moment my network bars started to drop, phone started to change from LTE to 3G and in one moment i started to search for a network, which resulted at the end to see "call failed"

I tried to reset network settings, did a factory reset, called my provider, nothing seemed to work. Then i started to search for a simmilar problem on Google, and found only one thread in which someone said to change in Voice&Data from LTE to 3G or even 2G which i did and then calls started to work just fine. But at the moment when i get it back to the LTE everything goes crazy again and my phone keeps dropping calls with "call failed" and looses signal. I don't know what to do anymore because i cannot use phone like this. I can use internet from my LTE normally. I can receive calls on FaceTime, normally send messages, surf on the internet, use social networks, so basicly everything except a normal call. Please Help me anyone if you know how. Thank you in advance

who is your provider and what network are you on?

It's European provider "Yettel Serbia" Few months ago it used to be "Telenor" I think both are Swedish

If LTE internet works, then there is nothing wrong with the radio hardware.

If 3G/2G call works, then there is nothing wrong with the call related audio hardware.

This leads to the conclusion that the issue is entirely network or phone compatibility related. Without detailed network information or device information, we won't know.

I just need to add that I tried another carrier, and same thing happens. On another iPhone or android phone my SIM card works perfectly fine

@stefan_usa To me this sounds like a configuration issue. Either your carrier or the access network is not configured correctly for CSFB to fall back to 3G for call, or your carrier/number has some misconfiguration for VoLTE.

Go to cellular settings to check if turning on/off VoLTE works.

I wrote in my last reply that when i put my simcard in another phone everything works fine, and when i put another carrier simcard in this iPhone everything acts the same on LTE. Even with VoLTE on or off it’s the same. I really have no idea what’s happening

I just found out that my phone is originally from Verizon Wireless because I have 256GB Silver MTAN2LL/A and I'm using my phone in Europe. Is it possible that there is some sort of a problem because of that?

@stefan_usa For an unlocked phone it probably shouldn't matter. You have successfully connected to your carrier's 3G and 4G already.

To me the issue really sounds like a VoLTE/IMS or CSFB misconfiguration or compatibility issue, which is usually something wrong on carrier side.
