Royal 16X Shredder The thermal sensor is stuck on overheat
I have a Royal 16X Shredder from Costco. The thermal sensor is stuck on overheat. Off overnight no joy. How to fix it?

sounds like the thermal sensor on the motor is open or shorted.
You need a meter to check the resistance.

That's very possible.
I recommend unplugging it from the wall and pressing the ON button a few times in order to discharge the capacitors. Make sure it is clean, paper free and has been unplugged for 30 to 60 minutes. Let me know if this works for you. Good luck!

@funkaddict It did not work for me. I unplugged it overnight and then powered it on with the power switch and ready light came on as well as the overheat light light Thanks for your thoughts,

@Jerry No problem. Have you tried opening it and inspecting the board? Sometimes it's posible to see a capacitor or resistor that has blown and they are quite easy to replace. Remember to unplug it if you decide to open. Good luck!
