does the audio amp ic control audio going to both speakers? if so would one that has gone faulty cause no sound from either the bottom speaker or the earpiece speaker

If you have ruled out parts the audio amp “U5100” would be the next thing to check.

i'm wondering if it'll cause both speakers to not work cause the earpiece speaker works
You need to rule out a parts issue before moving on to the board. If the top speaker works it will not be a board issue. Replace the charge port and test.
