J9001 something inside blocks my cable connector

Imac genius, refer to my two photos, do i need buy a top magnifier to check what inside J9001 is blocking my cable connector?

I see 12 metals from above. Which pin(s) block me? What is doable to enable cable connector insertion 100% into board connector?

(Out of careless mistake, my screen fell down desktop last week. The connector is partially broken)

You need a new connector at its physically damaged. There is no means to make this work as the socket pins are a fork type. While you might be able to insert the cable end it won't make electrical contact with the mating connections.

As much as I would love to offer you a magical answer to make this work I just can't (nor anyone else can either).

Thx Dan. Soldering on such very narrow space is like launch a rocket to the moon to me... Cannot shake hands, must have eagle eyesight... I will try buying some used tools to fix it asap. Thx your insights and selfless sharing. U give me a hope.

Hi Dan,

I fixed it.

After purchasing the original logic board connector from taobao, I realise that a quick fix is to remove the front cover, and erect the 6 pins upright 90 degree to the floor.

The board connector & cable connector at J9001 eventually fits to each other firmly.

My solder skill too poor. I am too poor to buy a professional hot wind gun. The above solution is quite happy to me.

Thanks Dan. I posted my previous wrong thoughts and my final outcome. Just use a mini 1-shape screwdriver to erect the pins...fixed it...the pins were tilted to screen side (as opposed to electric power back side ) due to screen drop onto desktop.
