Lumix DMC-G3: The flash is always on even when shut

I was taking a shot with inverted tripod at the beach and a little bit of ocean water got on the top of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-G3 camera. I dried off the camera after turning it off. It seemed to function fine later that day, but I noticed the day after I could not adjust my shutter speed higher than 160. I also noticed an unusual sound when I took a shot, more noise that the usual shutter sound. After some investigating I noticed that the flash is apparently stuck on forced flash, and even after cleaning our the entire flash area with canned air and making sure the flash is closed properly, the camera still thinks the flash is open therefore limiting my shutter speed and not letting me disable forced flash on the menu. Even when the flash is closed I can tell it goes off when I shoot a photo bc it smells almost like burnt gunpowder right after and explains the extra noise when taking a photo. I tried letting it dry out with flash open overnight, but the problem persists. Anyone know how to fix this?
