Will Battery Disconnection Cause Ipad to Erase?
If my battery is disconnected will it erase or reset the iPad? Do I need to perform a back up before I disconnect the battery?

Hi Bella,
No, disconnecting the battery won't wipe your iPad. The "disk" storage is held in non-volatile memory, meaning it isn't lost when the power is removed. Just be sure to shut it down first; press and hold the power button and the volume up button on the side of the iPad. Drag the on/off symbol to the right.
That being said, it's always a good idea to back up your device before working on it just to be safe.
Out of curiosity, why are you contemplating disconnecting the battery?
