When I push button to take picture it doesn't take and the shuts off

When I attempt to take a picture with the Sony Cyber DSC-H300 20.1 megapixel I'll press the button and doesn't take the picture and then turns off. I have put new batteries in (good kind) still happens. I take out batteries roll them around in my hand put back in and this has worked.
