Why does my LCD flicker?

I just bought my MacBook Pro off of eBay. It is a unibody late 2008 model (just under 4 years old). The LCD keeps flickering. For just a few milliseconds, half the LCD blacks out, but only when using the integrated 9400 M graphics card. When I use the dedicated 9600 M GT card, only the backlight flickers.

Is there a fix? I've already tried a PRAM reset.
