Tv no picture but sound and lights seem fine.

Good evening.

I've a sony kdl-50w829b was working fine now there is sound but no picture . I can see the lights working inside and the screen lights up a blueish purple colour .

The led light at the bottom pulsate between white and green. I've checked ribbons and cleaned etc but no luck as of yet .

I was wondering if somebody could point me to what's my next step ? Tcon ? As I'm not sure .

@oldturkey03 thank you ever so much for the quick response . I'm currently not at home but I can take some photos when I'm back . I need to pick up a voltage meter as well to be able to measure that tcon board. Thanks for the advice and I'll update ASAP.

@yorkiedave the "blueish purple colour ." could be the backlight. In that case it is possible that it is the T-con board, but it could also be the main board. Sony has had issues with the processors on their main boards. Double check all the flat ribbon cables. Check for tears/corrosion or any other damage. Try and reseat the cables. We would need to see your T-con board to identify the points where you can measure the voltages to see if it is functioning. Commonly Sony TV's that have a T-con board error should give you a blink code. Post some pictures of your boards and let's see if we can identify any possibilities as well as the TP for the voltages.
