Adding a Fuse to Protect Display

The Apple power supply finally bit the dust, it was used on my 30" Cinema Display. I have purchased one of the $20 240 Watt, 10 Amp power supplies to replace it. I would feel much more comfortable using this inexpensive PSU if I could add protection between the display and the power supply. I welcome any advice on how to add a fuse with the goal of not destroying the display should the power supply go haywire.

@charles218 lets see what the end connectors look like. You can always add a 25 V 8 A inline fast-blow fuse.

I am planning on removing the connector from the dead Apple power supply and using it with the new power supply, this way I don't have to cut the display cable. It looks like the fuse would need to go between the recycled connector and the power supply tap.

@charles218 yup. Right one the power lead.

Is it important that the fuse holders wire be the same gauge or close to the same gauge as the connection wire?

@charles218 not on that length. You'll be fine with slightly smaller/bigger leads.

Old Turkey, you have been very helpful, thanks! I searched for the past half hour or so for 25 V - 8 Amps without success, nothing comes close, so if you or anyone has any leads on where I can find it, please let me know.
