Hi,
Connect an external monitor to the laptop's DP or vga port and check if there's a display on it.
Toggle the F4 key to switch between the laptop screen on only, the external monitor on only or both on together.
If there is a display on the external monitor, try shining a flashlight at an angle close to the laptop screen and check if you can see any images.
They will be very faint if they are there to be seen so trying this in a darkened room may help.
If you can see images then there's a backlight problem with the screen.
This could be due to a faulty backlight power circuit, faulty or loose video cable or a faulty display.
