Dryer shuts off and will not continue drying. It can be shut off, reset and restarted, but will not continue drying. If you walk away and come back later the dryer is running and drying clothes.

It possible either your vent pipe is stopped up not allowing the heat to escape the dryer or there are some heat safety switches in the dryer that could either be bad or weak. Both instances will cause the dryer to shut off until it cools and then turn back on with out anyone being around it.

Tried all suggestions, replaced all sensors, plus belt and rollers for drum. still does same thing starts drying clothes then stops midway. will not start back up, but if you walk away it will start back up and complete cycle.

Can you post a picture of the dryer so I can have a better idea of exactly what we are working on please?
