Sony OLED TV KD-65X9305C blinks 4 times red and doesn't start

I have the Sony OLED TV KD-65X9305C, which doesn't start any more (reset didn't help).

The way I understand this, four times blinking means that a self check of the hardware failed.

The TV has a KS Board 1-894-610-11 (173558311), a LED Driver board 15ST032M-A01, a Main TV Board 1-894-596 and a Power Board APS-387 / 1-894-781-11.

In threads like this people had a service manual for that model but I'm unable to find a service manual for my model (just the regular manual). In this thread it was the main board. And here it was suggested to replace the T-con board (which one is the T-con board anyway?).

It seems to be the same issue as this, so I guess I have to replace the LD board but which is it?

How can I properly check what causes the error?

Hi @eifani

Here's the service manual for your model. (Scroll down and see all the models covered by the manual).

It says that you can download it but I can't find a download link, you may have better luck.

You can view it online by scrolling down and selecting the next page in the page number list e.g. 1 of 127 Go to view the information on all of the pages one at a time. A bit slow maybe but at least you've got the information.

On p.9 it shows that a 4 blink error code is:

<LD/P> LED driver failure/LED voltage protection [LD_ERR]

<LD/P> Error detection of the I2C communication  between the Main device and the LD IC.[BCM_ERR]

So the problem is either with the LD board or the panel module i.e. the screen

The TV parts location for your model starts on p.56 and finishes on p.98

Hopefully a start.

@eifani

The LD board is the LED Driver board 15ST032M-A0.

LD = Led Driver.

There's no schematics available online for the board so the best option is to replace it.

Search online using the board number only to find suppliers. The cost seems reasonable because if it solves the problem it will be cheaper than replacing the LCD panel (if you can find one) as they can cost nearly half as much as a new TV

Make sure that you include the revision number as shown on your board.

Usually it is more than just A0 e.g. 15ST032M-A01 or -A02 etc

Thank you for the fast response @jayeff!

I will have a look!

Which one is the LD board?

Furthermore I'm open for more feedback if you (or anyone else) has further tips on how to tackle this.

Thank you so much @jayeff!

Do you have any recommendation where someone should buy such a board in Europe?

par

@eifani

I can only find one supplier in the UK that has the board in stock and none at all in Europe.

This is not a recommendation to use them only to show what the board may cost (you will have to include shipping charges and taxes.

I suggest that you do what I did and search for 15ST032M-A01 and check what results you get and then base your decision to buy it or nor on your instincts as to whether or not you feel OK about taking the risk and buying it from whoever you decide.

There will be a few pages of results for your search but most say that the part is out of stock.
