Orange light turns on for a couple of seconds but 3DS doesn't charge
Less than a year ago I fully charged my old 3DS (after not touching it for a couple of years), using the original cable. Today I wanted to charge it again but the orange light only comes on for a couple of seconds, then turns off. I left it plugged in for a couple of hours but the 3DS still won't turn on.
People recommend to remove the battery, press the power button for a couple of seconds, then put the battery back in but it still won't charge. The battery looks fine, not bloated.
I found this thread about someone who looks like they had the same problem but I don't quite understand what they did to fix it. Did they plug the 3DS in, then remove the battery, wait a little bit and put the battery back in or do you unplug some time inbetween too?
Is there anything else I can try before I buy a new battery (I don't think you can buy the genuine ones anymore, can you?)?
