I broke the ribon cable that appears to go to the battery
Is there any way to fix this?

If you talk about the ribbon cable of the battery, your ipod won't turn on. It's 3 wires, red, black and white. You could change for a new battery. The wire are attached to the battery. Be sure it's the same cable you're talking about.

Sorry, the wires are for ipod 4th gen. It's a ribbon cable on ipod touch 4th Gen for the battery.

You have to buy a new battery. You can't just change the ribbon cable or fix it, it's a part of the battery.

you can get a new battery for 5 or 6 bucks on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40... good luck
