Keyboard & mouse stop working

Here’s my problem:

I reset my pc to start over on my windows 10, everything goes normal with my mouse and keyboard until it comes to the Lock Screen where I need to put the password, my mouse and keyboard suddenly stop working for some reason (they worked when I turned on the pc, but only then they stop working)

Are they turned on in the BIOS? Are they USB? If so sometimes just unplugging them, waiting a few moments and plugging them back in again helps.

Have you tried them on another computer?

They are usb and they work perfectly normal when my pc starts running, but when it comes to the Home Screen they just stop working, the mouse still on but doesn’t do anything when I move it and the keyboard just shutdown by itself

@carlosp63733 Something must be corrupted in your Windows installation. Have you tried the built in Windows repair for boot problems? As you power on shut the power off, just as Windows starts loading, by holding the power button down. Do this three times and then power up as normal. Windows should take you to the Repair menu.

Yeah I did, but now even resetting the whole pc to start over, I can’t choose anything bc the keyboard just turns off for some reason, and idk what to do, I can’t acces any other option of the repair system because I need to put. The password of “defaultuser0” and idk wtf is the password

Hi @carlosp63733

What else?

* Make sure you are offline - unplug network cable.

* Try taking out the coin battery on the motherboard and replacing it. They usually last about 5 years so yours may need this. This will also set a corrupterd BIOS to its default settings. Re3member to check setting in BIOS after this.

* Can you get into the BIOS?

* Try different USB ports - they sometimes have problems.

* Try booting up in Safe Mode - should be able to get there from the Startup Repairs screens. Run one of the password wiping programs. - petter nordahl-hagen one is good.

That should keep you busy for a little while.
