Small fully automatic coffee machines from Melitta. The Melitta Caffeo Solo makes approximately two cups of coffee at a time. Milk foam is only possible with the "Perfect Milk" variants.

Brewing unit won't go back in

The brewing unit of our Melitta Caffeo Solo did not going back in.

I found mentions of the motor not being properly aligned.

The official FAQ states: The motor might not be in the correct position. Check if the water tank is filled and if the drip tray is in place. Turn the appliance OFF and then ON again. Then simultaneously press the button for My-Coffee and the on/off button for more than 2 seconds. The motor will move into the correct position. Insert the brewing unit again and check that it is correctly locked in position.

However, this proposed solution did not reset the motor position in my case.

I found that the locking handle of the brewing unit moves a metal lever.

This metal lever engages a button in the machine.

By carefully pressing this button (i used the handle of a small spoon), the motor reset to the correct position.

Long story short: I don't have a question, and just wanted to post this here for future reference.

Thank you so much for posting this -- a friend of mine gave me a Melitta machinea few days ago and I wasn't able to get the brewing unit back into it. It turns out the model I have, the Avanza 600, has two switches that need to be pressed simultaneously. I think I also had to put some water into it before it would come to life at all. Thank you again!

You are a truly lifesaver. The brewing unit of my favorite Melitta Avanza f270 stuck inside and when I managed to get it out it didn't fit. I was about to tear it all apart and buy a new one, until I read your post. Much appreciation love and greetings from Greece. Thank you so much!

Thank you from the bottom of my cup!

It took a few goes to get the motor to drive round to the correct position but, once there, the brewing unit slotted back just right.

This experience has taught me two things. Firstly, if the instructions say rinse the brewing unit weekly, rinse it every week, not three months. Secondly, there are some truly generous people around. Spending one’s time to help others is the highest form of generosity.

Oh, and thirdly, fresh-brewed coffee or nothing.

Yes, this is a good try! If it is not successfull, there is one more option which acquires plenty of work:

  • Open the device and the drive. Connect 12 V to the motor leads until it reaches the right position.

If it happens more often, the gearbox will have to be opened anyway.
