Maytag MDB8859AWB2 Unit stopped and no power present (keypad, etc.)

Hello, was unsure to begin a new discussion or ask question here. Issue is with Maytag MDB8859AWB2 dishwasher. Has always worked without issue until recently. Unit stopped and no power present (keypad, etc.). Noticed water at bottom of tub as if cycle was interrupted, Checked circuit breaker and wasn't tripped. After further research, believed issue to be BiMetal Thermal Cutoff Fuse part W10258275. Videos shown here:

Turned off power / breaker to the dishwasher and replaced the thermal fuse. Unit again worked! Approximately two week later, dishwasher again stopped working / no power and water at bottom of tub. Breaker was not tripped. Again replaced the BiMetal Thermal Fuse, and dishwasher once again began working. After about another two weeks of operating without issue, it again stopped. My question is this, what would cause unit to lose power and cause thermal fuse to again become defective?

Would the following cause the dishwasher to lose power / damage the thermal fuse (did not test fuse with multimeter etc. after replacing); Heating Element failing, defective High Limit Thermostat, defective Control Board, defective Control Panel, issue with Water Valve, Drain Pump, Circulation Pump shorting, clogged drain hose etc.?

Update (11/12/24)

Thank you jayelf! Overlooked the notes at bottom left of page 1;

Hi @appguy

Might be prudent to check if the thermal cut off fuse has blown or not first, rather than just assume that it has.

Turning off the circuit breakers to replace the fuse and then restoring them has the same effect as resetting the control board.

There are other possibilities as shown by the tech sheet for the dishwasher. It lists the troubleshooting checks for a no power situation (which includes a blown thermal fuse). Maybe worth checking if the fuse has blown

It also states that the heater relay must lag the motor relay by 1.5 seconds to avoid the high inrush current that would occur if both the heater and the motor were turned on at the same time. This current would be sufficient to blow the thermal cut off fuse (if it was blown that is.) Intermittent sticking relay contacts??

Perhaps run the diagnostic test program as described in the sheet and check if it shows anything.

If you find the problem and it is a faulty part that needs replacing, here's the parts list that is useful. Locate the wanted part in the list and note the manufacturer's part number that is listed with it. Search online for the part number only, t find suppliers that suit you best.

Helo jayeff, thank you for the follow up and providing the additional information, as well a the technical sheet. I appreciate your time and doing so!

Where would the “Service Diagnostics Cycle” section for checking operation with diagnostic section be located in attached Tech Sheet? Is the diagnostics service a sequence of numbers pressed on keypad that places the dishwasher in a "Service Mode:?

@appguy

To start the dishwasher in diagnostic mode press following keys in sequence in less than 6 seconds : Heated Dry ➙ Normal ➙ Heated Dry ➙ Normal

See SERVICE DIAGNOSTICS CYCLE NOTES - Note 1, bottom left side of p.1 of the tech sheet for how to perform the diagnostics

Have since confirmed previous Thermal Cutoff Fuses removed (part W10258275), had no continuity per multimeter (set on continuity). Checked new cutoff fuse and received beep from multimeter confirming continuity. Also tested the existing High Limit Thermostat (part WP661566) and received beep confirming continuity. Replaced it since I had additional. Turn breaker back on and power returned. Performed the diagnostics cycle (1.To invoke the Diagnostics Cycle, perform the following key presses or actions in less than 6 sec while in standby Heated Dry➙Normal➙Heated Dry➙Normal.). Prior to pressing the sequence of buttons (, control panel was blank, unsure if this is considered "Standby". All led's on control panel lit up afterwards. What would be the next step?

@appguy

As per the mini manual, once in Diagnostics press the Start/resume key and check if it starts any tests i.e. LEDs on control panel. If it does then press the key once more to test the next function.

The intervals are shown in the chart next to the instructions.

Thank you! How do you determine system beining in "Ready" mode prior to entering the Diagnostic cycle (I Pressed Heated Dry➙Normal➙Heated Dry➙Normal (all LEDS light up),then Pressed Start/Resume button, and all LEDS remained lit, no change).
