My car is not shifting into gear... the gear shift itself moves freely except when trying to put it back into park there is some tension there... other than that the car starts and basically runs but wont move nowhere thanks to the gearshift... help pls?

Hello. Without being able to see the actual car i am going to say that the shifter cable has either become disconnected from the transmission or has become loose and is not working the lever on top of the transmission.
