Hi,
I have replaced the old HD with a Crucial SSD on my iMac, put it all back together and on start-up I have these weird flickering lines.
I opened it up again, reseated the SSD, plugged it all back together, checked the connections and it’s still doing the same.
Anyone recognise these flickering horizontal lines and know what it means?

This looks like the LCD cables got damaged when trying to take the display off.

I was super careful and use spudgers, but if that’s what you think it is, maybe I did damage them.
Hmm, what are the next steps?
Edit: Could it be dust in the connector or something? Or that they’re not seating properly?

@samgrady - What I find odd is you are getting a signal to the display it’s just scrambled. As it’s still cold the air can be dry and have the risk of static discharge did you use ESD protection?
That’s a negative. Didn't know what it was until a moment ago...(!)
One other piece of info, I had a flashing folder with ? at start-up once. I also had internet recovery going too, but it appeared to finish, then went to the issue I posted about already.
@samgrady - Give this a try plug in an external display does that respond?
