Options

Does IFixit sell the following bits by themselves or as a special kit.

I am looking for were I can order the following individual bits or as a set.

The iFixIt Manta set does not have all the needed bits....

The bits below are need to repair/service the 2024/2025 lineup of MacBook (Pro/Air), iMac and Mac Mini.

Torx T1s Security Bit

Torx T6s Security Bit

Torx Plus T1 IP

Torx Plus T2 IP

Torx Plus T3 IP

Torx Plus T4 IP

Torx Plus T5 IP

Torx Plus T6 IP

Torx Plus T8 IP

Torx Plus T10 IP

Torx Plus T25 IP

Sean, as this is the repair forum, the iFixit Store personnel don't generally frequent it keeping an eye out for questions that apply to them. To contact them directly, your best bet is to email them at support@ifixit.com.

No need to take down your question, as there are a lot of people on here with knowledge of where to buy parts and tools who also may be able to help, though.

Torx T1s Security & Torx T1
Torx T6s Security & Torx T6

You really only need the Security versions

Not sure why you list Torx Plus, there is only Torx (T) or (TR) for the security version used in Mac systems. The Torx Plus bit is similar to Torx as far as I know it's not as popular as the original Torx.

So the sizes T2, T3, T4, T5, T8, T10, T25 are preset in the Mako kit And the security versions work with the standard screws as well. As I've listed here.

TORX® - T2, T3, T4, T5
TORX® Security - TR6, TR7, TR8, TR9, TR10, TR15, TR20, TR25

Somewhat, I am going off the list of tools listed on Apples site for these models... Still need to find the T1s and T6s bits...

@smmicroserve - Here's a good reference: Wikipedia - Torx

I think the T1s and T6s bits are just the standard security bit. I've never heard of a T1s or T6s within the Apple documents, but then again I haven't needed to go digging as I just use the iFixit tools and I've fixed a fair number of Macs for over I think close to 20 years. Can you point me to where you saw these bits called out.

@smmicroserve - Yes, I get that. Apple doesn't use a T1 in the Mac's they do use it in the Watches! But it's a standard one as the size is so small. The kit offers a TR6 which is the security version.
