Depends on the glue you use
If you use enough glue with a high quality, it will remain water resistant (not fully water proof)
Get something from aliexpress, then if you knock a jug of water over then your phone is probably done for

It won’t be ‘waterproof’ again. I’ve never seen a waterproof Apple phone yet but have seen plenty of water damaged ones. The only way to get factory resistance is have Apple do it.
