My Type-C port, which I use for both charging and connecting headphones, is now having a loose connection or keeps disconnecting randomly. I initially thought it might be due to dust, so I cleaned the port carefully, but the issue still persists. What could be causing this, and how can I fix it?

@gmailpurp not sure how or how well you cleaned it. Use something like a wooden toothpick and sharpen the end on it, then try to clean the port carefully. You do not want to bend the contacts etc., nor do you want to use any metallic object to clean it. If cleaning does not accomplish the task, change the charging port flex. It's not very expensive and the task of changing not horribly complicated (of course it's a PITA since you have to open your phone etc. To replace the charging board flex cable and since iFixit does not yet have a specific guide for that, use the one from here. It is written in Spanish so use a browser that does the translating for you, if needed.
Before doing all of this you want to make sure that it is not a cable issue. Try another cable first.
While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. If you mean loose as in the cable in the port is loose as opposed to the port itself is loose?
The port still has dirt in it. Shine a torch into it and dirt usually builds up at both ends of the port. People clean the top and bottom but don't clean the ends.
Clean it carefully so no dirt at all is visible and the cable should click into place.
