Hey everyone,
While disassembling my iPhone 14 Pro, I accidentally tore off this small flex cable located in the bottom speaker module. I've marked it in the attached photo.
Does anyone know what this cable is for? Is it critical for audio output or something else?
I'm trying to figure out if I need to replace it or if the phone will work fine without it.

I figured it out – the flex cable I accidentally ripped is just a ground connection, and it only contains a single electrical trace inside.
I verified this using a multimeter in continuity mode: I placed one probe on the trace from the flex cable and the other on the iPhone’s metal frame – and got a beep, confirming they’re directly connected.
So it's most likely there to ensure consistent grounding. The speaker and phone seem to work fine without it.

I think that's a feedback microphone, it prevents the echo when you are talking with hands free use.

You will need to fit a new charge port assembly if you have problems.
