Why is it that my engine is hard to start and when it starts it cut out when high gears are engaged or when climbing a hill

if it idles ok it is not the air leak it is more likely the float level cutting off to early had same issue sputters acts like spark plug it is carb if jets arew clean check manifold for leaks if no power check your clutch belt too. also the elits have a over flow tube from carb that will evaporate the gas in carb if sittiing more than 3 days people are putting fuel filter on extra causing less gas to carb make sure tank isn't to rusty will be cleaning carb slow jets alot. don't run a hot or cold plus like in the snow weather will caucing rich issues
