1. Check the Power Supply (for Xbox One with external brick)

  • Make sure the light on the power brick is solid white or orange.
    • No light? → The power supply is dead → replace it.
    • Blinking light? → Fault in the power supply → unplug for 10 minutes, then try again.

2. Power Reset

  • Xbox One / Series X|S:
    1. Unplug the power cord from the console.
    2. Wait at least 10 seconds (better 30–60 seconds).
    3. Plug it back in and press the power button.
  • If still nothing, try plugging directly into a different wall socket (no surge protector).

3. Check HDMI & Display

Sometimes the console is on but no display:

  • Make sure the HDMI is connected to the HDMI OUT port, not HDMI IN.
  • Test with another cable and TV.
  • Try holding the power button for 10 seconds until it fully shuts down, then power it back on.

4. Eject Button Power-On Trick (Xbox One Only)

  • Press and hold the eject button + power button together until you hear a beep.
    • If it turns on, the power button might be faulty.

5. Overheating / Dust Issues

  • If the console overheated, it may refuse to power on until cooled.
  • Clean vents and make sure it’s in a well-ventilated area.

6. Internal Hardware Issues

If none of the above works:

  • Possible issues: bad power button, motherboard, or internal PSU (on Xbox One S/X and Series X|S).
  • At this point, you may need repair or replacement from Microsoft or a local console repair shop.
