Hey Bonnie , try a hard reset by unplugging dishwasher for five to ten minutes . Q? Has it been acting up at start cycle time with lights flashing by chance? If so you may need to replace the lock mechanism which you can get model number on inside of door on info plate on right side of panel . It will give you manual and mfg as Electrolux makes the washer . There is a switch bypass test on YouTube and manual will show you step by step how to manually remove door to open latch if infact it’s defective if it opens up after reset spray and inspect latch for blockage or corrosion use wd40 if you have to lube and clean also the switch connections while at it
