I am guessing that the l & r speakers do not go thru the internal amp. The USB power is for the amp which supplies the subwoofer. Therefore, your problem may be that the USB is not plugged in or the power is not sufficient. There could also be a problem with the internal amp or the speaker. These have a 2 year warranty, so you may want to check that out after you insure the USB power is good. Otherwise, you need to open it up to further test it.
