My laptop got into water how do I fix it

@mduduzisihlo145 you are not telling us how bad the water damage was or even if the whole laptop got submerged.

The very first step I would suggest is to disassemble your laptop. Since iFixit does not yet have a guide for this phone, use the HP14 Ep0000 Maintenance And Service Guide to help you disassemble your laptop. You will nee to remove the motherboard. You will need to remove the heatsink and fans from the motherboard. You will also have to remove any sub-board that maybe connected to the motherboard (WiFi board, Memory modules, SSD if installed etc.)

Take a careful and close look at all components and connectors. Look for major corrosion, evaluate the pins in the connectors etc,. Take a look at all connectors as well as cable ends. . Once you got any gross contamination cleaned, use 90%+ isopropyl alcohol and clean all of the parts, including any of the other boards that were installed For a proper cleaning, use this guide. It was written for an Apple iPhone 3G but all the steps are still pertinent to your laptop as well. I can not stress the importance of a good cleaning enough, so do it over and over while replacing the alcohol after each cleaning.

The importance here is the cleaning. It would of course be best to get it ultrasonically cleaned.

After that, reassemble your laptop. You will need to replace the thermal paste on your heatsink. I would replace the fans since those are a vital part for your laptop. If your laptop has a HDD it is possible that it may have survived (the drives are pretty well sealed) the water damage but be prepared to replace that as well. Same with the battery. It may have survived any water damage but it may also have been shorted out. You can do a preliminary check by measuring the voltage on the battery connector.

Main concern here is also the LCD. Those can't be cleaned. If it does no longer work, it must be replaced.

The importance here is the cleaning. It would of course be best to get it ultrasonically cleaned but if you do not have the ability to do that, the cleaning with isopropyl alcohol will at least give you a chance to safe your laptop.
