To ensure that you're getting the correct battery for your laptop, search online for the battery model number that is printed on the battery in your laptop.
Here's the Dell 15 5000 series service manual
Go to p.36 to view the procedure to remove/replace the battery in the laptop. This should allow you to find the model number on the battery.
