D-Pad down stuck even after replacing membrane and conductive rubber.

Hey!

My D-pad down is permanently stuck. I've gotten this controller with a used kit. It worked fine for a few hours of gameplay, then the D-Pad down got stuck, and it won't go back. I don't know if anyone spilled any liquids on it, but it doesn't seem to be the case, there's no sign of oxidation on the motherboard.

I disassembled and tried cleaning it properly with isopropyl alcohol, but it didn't work. I bough a replacement membrane + conductive rubber underneath it, but the problem persists!

I'm actually amazed and I don't know what else can be the issue or even how to start diagnosing it with more advanced tools.
Any suggestions?

Hi!

First of all, disassemble it and get all the buttons out. Clean it completely with isopropyl alcohol the holes where the buttons goes into.

Then clean the buttons completely and replace the rubber again.

Changement boutons manette DualSense v2

If that doesn’t work, please replace the face plate and try again.

Got it on trying again, but no success. I had cleaned everything already when changing the membrane. In fact, I actually cleaned it before trying a new membrane, which didn't work, so I ordered the new membrane + new buttons.

I understand that the faceplate is the plastic part that covers the controller.

How would it be connected to this D-Pad down issue? I noticed that it seems to be an electric issue of some sort, not physical at all.

The D-Pad is being pressed insanely fast, to a rate it feels like it's stuck, but there's no physical actuation of the key itself. It's progressive. It starts only after 10-15 minutes of gaming, starts to click by itself, then it gets "stucK"

I thought you mean that it was physically stuck. But this is not the case? Is it physical or electrical?

If it’s something electrical, check the traces on the motherboard to see if they are still OK.
